This is a new little “publication” I’m adding for those of you on my mailing list.
I’ve always found it interesting to see what the people I follow are working on — not just professionally, but personally. What they’re testing. What they’re learning. What they’re refining. I often pick up small ideas that spark something bigger in my own life.
So I thought… why not do the same here?
Consider this a behind-the-scenes look at what I’m experimenting with, thinking about, or focusing on each month — in training, in health, and in life. If it inspires you, challenges you, or simply makes you reflect a little, then it’s doing its job.
30 Days of Pushups.
At least 10 every single day (goal is 3×10 if possible).
Now — full transparency — I have improved tremendously with pushups over the years, but they are still not my favorite. They’re humbling. They expose weakness quickly. And that’s exactly why I’m choosing them.
If something still feels hard, there’s room to grow. So why not fine-tune it?
Chest work is often overlooked — especially by women — but it’s essential for strong, balanced upper bodies. Every time you push open a heavy door, carry groceries in from the car, get up off the ground, or lift something overhead, your chest is working.
Runners especially tend to live in the legs + core world (understandably), but durability is built from the shoulders down.
So this is my little March challenge.

Bloodwork Update — High Cholesterol
This has been part of my story for as long as I can remember. I’ve had high cholesterol since I was a child. It’s hereditary — the women in my family have all dealt with it — and for years we’ve managed it without medication by being mindful of dietary cholesterol intake.
But as research and thinking around cholesterol have evolved (and as my own nutrition has shifted), it felt like time to look a little deeper. I eat a fair amount of meat to consistently hit my ~120g of protein per day, so my doctor suggested we get more specific instead of guessing.
I’m taking a more advanced test through Boston Heart Diagnostics that will help determine whether my body produces more cholesterol (our suspicion) or whether I primarily absorb it from the foods I eat.
That distinction matters. If I’m an over-absorber, then yes — I’ll need to be more strategic about fat and cholesterol intake. But if my body is simply a strong producer (thanks, genetics), the approach looks different and focuses more on other metabolic pathways rather than just cutting steak and eggs.
I’m sharing this because I believe in data over fear. And because just like training — guessing doesn’t help. Testing does.
Stay tuned.
Run Club starts in TWO weeks — on St. Paddy’s Day!!!!
We may not be on the track right away (hello, New England), but don’t you worry — we will absolutely get in a great workout. I’ll make it fun, purposeful, and worth showing up for.
Early season is about building momentum, reconnecting with your people, and setting the tone for spring. The track will be there soon enough. For now, we build the base, bring the energy, and get rolling together.
Tuesdays, March 17th–May 5th, 6:30–7:30 p.m., meet at the Westwood Track. We will be running in and around the high school until the snow melts.
Food — High Performance Kitchen
Lately I’ve really been leaning into meal planning — not just casually, but strategically. When you’re feeding 3 VERY active, growing teens plus two busy 40-year-olds (with different but overlapping needs), you quickly realize food has to work hard.
I’ve been figuring out how to get the most bang for my buck nutritionally — meals that support performance, growth, hormones, recovery, and energy… without spending my entire life in the kitchen.
This is becoming a new area of focus for me — helping people navigate food in a practical way. Whether it’s teen athletes, menopausal women, endurance runners, or families trying to balance it all, there is so much noise out there. I want to simplify it.
More to come on this front. But for now, I wanted to share one of the recipes I cook on repeat in our house — efficient, high-protein, and family-approved.
Enjoy it tonight! I am.
Until next time……
